Edinburgh

We had few flying visits in November and December for eye appointments for Adam and this photo sums up the weather we had each time! We much prefer the Spanish climate!

Although Adam did love having an extra Christmas and birthday with Granny & Grandad!

Adam is 8.

Adam wanted a party this year to which most of the class came! I'm hoping he'll be happy choosing 2 friends to go bowling next year. Crazy and loud but they all had a good time.

Christmas!

This is our fourth Christmas in Spain and the second in this rented apartment. We have found a house to buy but the deal won't be done until January so here we are!

Adam amazed Santa brought him a Wii.

Bonfire night

Bonfire night was spent with English friends who had a (not so small) bonfire and a delicious hog roast. Adam had a great night with a hayfight, helped make his first "guy" and then watched it being burned!

Autumn days out

Monday to Friday life is busy with school, homework and teaching English so we like to get out and about on the weekends or school holidays - usually with a picnic. Like the old military battery at Cabo Tiñoso...

...looked like huge sandcastles to me!

Found the house!

We have seen loads of houses by now but were quite happy renting as hadn't seen a house we liked enough (and could afford) but as fate would have it I resigned from HMRC while back on holiday in Scotland - as my 3 year career break came to an end - returned to Spain - and the same week saw a house we all liked and could afford! It comes with everything that is in it and will be ours once the unexpected paperwork issues are resolved...

Summer holidays part 2

We were invited to a cousin's wedding hence the decision to swap some of our lovely hot Spanish summer for a cold, wet and windy Scottish one. Thankfully on the day the weather was kind and although a bit grey it wasn't too wet or cold. Ferry from South Queensferry to the old abbey on Inchcolm Island - a beautiful setting for a wedding!

P.S. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Finn.

Went for a walk at Cramond (bloody freezing) and Adam wanted this ice-cream tub after looking at the pictures but wasn't sure if he'd like that brown bit that sticks in it! What Scottish kid doesn't know a flake when he sees one!

Out and about in Edinburgh.

A wee afternoon drive in Steven's neck of the woods.

Adam had a fantastic afternoon meeting up with 3 of his favourite friends (who are girls but not girlfriends he always tells me) from peekaboo nursery.
