Carnaval finale

Carnaval school parade

All the schools in Cehegín and surrounding areas take part in the Carnaval parade. Each school or nursery has a different outfit and I have promised my Spanish friend Angeles that Adam and I will take part next year!

How not to have a bonfire!

All that needs to be said is NEVER use petrol on a bonfire! A split-second (wrong) move by Steven! I was not present at the time of the petrol pouring!

Ended up with a Friday night visit to Cehegín emergency room and Saturday morning visiting the burns unit at a hospital in Murcia!

Carnaval

Many masks came home from school this week to be coloured in! Carnaval week starts on 13th February for a week and the Spanish do love an excuse to dress up. Adam has decided that he would only watch the parade this year and maybe take part next year (which is good for me cos the outfit for mums was a bit short and came with fur-trimmed knee-length black boots!!!!)

The kids shout "PATATAS" when photos are taken
and Adam always finds it a bit too loud!

Adam took great care when colouring this red mask but he eventually decided to wear the feather mask to school. I would love to say we made it but that would be a lie - I bought it out the Chino shop for 1.20€.
