School has finished for the summer and the indoor pool is closed 'cos the outdoor pool is open! Lots of trees for shade, a bar, cafe and two swimming pools - lovely.

Fiesta
Mums from each class organised masses of food and drink for the kids, parents and teachers - some even cooked paella.
My American friend Sabina, Spanish mum Angeles and me. The Spanish mums are becoming more friendly now so the more they chat to me the more I will learn (and the less cringey it might feel when I speak - haha).
Lucía and Adam are always together at school - she is his favourite chica apparently although he still misses (and dreams about) Ellie, Kayley, Natalie and Alice, Alice Mackenzie and Abby to name but a few - he always was one for the ladies!

8 months on
I cannot believe we have been in Spain for 8 months already. Time has flown by although we have been back and forward for weekends at the beach and have also been back to Scotland for a Rooney family wedding.
Adam was so happy to be back at school (colegio Begastri) after our trip back to Edinburgh as he had missed all his friends (and his routine I think). School hours in June are only 9 til 1 so my storytime reading to the wee Spanish people has come to an end for this term. The English teachers have asked if we would be back next term as they seem very keen for us to continue - would be better if it led to a part-time job though...
Steven never managed to get a driving job so we are now on plan B which meant he had to stay in Edinburgh when Adam and I flew back last month as he passed the interview and got a place on a CELTA course so he can hopefully get a job teaching English here. He should be back in Spain on 22nd June in time for the (long) summer school holidays of around 13 weeks! At least the town's outdoor swimming pool will be open.
We've been to see loads of houses here - in town and in the campo - but really want to be mortgage free so we'll have to keep looking to find the right one. We compromise on different things all the time but fingers crossed we find something soon else we'll be on the move to another rental in September. In the meantime I am packing (thanks for your help mum - and Matt) to move into our American friends' house to look after their amazing townhouse and also take care of their pets while they spend their summer holidays back in America. They have a huge shady garden so we'll have a much better summer there than we would have had in this apartment with the roof terrace/oven upstairs.
